When their team needed them most, Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns stepped up.

The twin Minnesota Timberwolves’ stars led the charge in the Game 4 105-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Both Edwards and Towns were in foul trouble, but did not allow their foul trouble to heavily impact the game.

Edwards scored 29 points and had 10 rebounds and 9 assists on 11-for-25 shooting. Towns scored 25 points on 9-for-13, including four three-point makes. Down 90-89, Towns hit back-to-back threes to give his team a 95-90 lead.

Leading the Mavericks was Luka Doncic with 28 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists but he was only 7-for-21 shooting. Kyrie Irving was just 6-for-18 and 1-for-6 from three-point range and scored just 16 points. P.J. Washington also struggled, going just 3-for-13 (2-for-9 from downtown). Jaden Hardy was a bright spot for the Mavericks, scoring 13 points in only 12 minutes.

The story of the evening though was Towns, who was just 15-for-54 in Games 1-3 of the series but showed up to play on Tuesday and hit big shots at crucial moments while also scoring inside. The Timberwolves defense was very active, playing Irving tough while securing a 40-38 rebounding advantage and holding the Mavericks to just 42 percent shooting. Rudy Gobert pulled in 10 rebounds and had one block.

Game 5 back in Minnesota is Thursday evening at 8:30 p.m.
