The Big 3 gave out some awards this week with the regular season having come to a close last weekend in Dallas.
The Defensive Player of the Year Award winner, as well as the "Too Hard to Guard" Award winner, were announced this week, with Amare Stoudemire of Tri-State taking home the Defensive Player of the Year and Bivouac's Will Bynum securing the Too Hard to Guard Award.
Stoudemire, 36, was 1st in the league at 1.8 blocks per game, and 6th in the league in rebounds at 7.1 per contest. He was also 6th in points per game at 16.8. In Week 8 vs Power - a 50-43 Tri-State victory - he blocked a season-high 5 shots. He also had 4 blocks in Tri-State's Week 9 win over the Aliens, as well as 3 blocks in a Week 6 win over the 3 Headed Monsters.
Bynum, also 36, was dynamic all season long, dazzling with his ball handling ability and quickness. He averaged 18.2 points per game (3rd in the the Big 3), and - on August 3 in Chicago against the Killer 3s - scored a Big 3 record 33 points in a 9-point Bivouac win. The former Detroit Piston, and Maccabi Tel Aviv standout, proved to be one of the better guards in the league and will continue to be a force next season.
