Game 3: Power (1-0) vs Tri-State (0-1)
Inactive: Jermaine O'Neal, Bonzi Wells, Corey Maggette, Quentin Richardson, Ryan Gomes
In the most anticipated match up of the night, and the game that capped week 2, Power was able to fend off Tri-State, 51-43, improving their record to 2-0. Cuttino Mobley had 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists to lead Power. He is averaging 25 points so far on the season. Glen Davis had 10 points and 5 rebounds, and new Power player Julian Wright added 8 points and 4 rebounds. Mychel Thompson, brother of Klay, had a game high 11 rebounds
For Tri-State, Amare Stoudemire was solid, scoring 18 points with 6 rebounds. Nate Robinson added 12. Yakhouba Diawara also had 9 points and 9 rebounds.
Tri-State is off to a rough 0-2 start, but it is worth noting that they have yet to have a full compliment of players. Jermaine O'Neal hasn't appeared in the first two games, and neither has Bonzi Wells. Both will help Tri-State immensely. Next week, the team faces 3s Company, another team in need of a victory, from Birmingham, AL next Saturday at 5pm.
Power continues to show why they won it all last year, playing great team ball and continuing to get great play from Mobley. Next for Power are Trilogy, as they will square off next Sunday in Atlanta.
