The Canadian men’s national team defeated France Friday, 85-73, in an exhibition from Orleans, France.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the Canadians with 23 points, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 27 minutes. R.J. Barrett scored 21.
Canada outscored France 25-19 in the first quarter and 21-15 in the fourth en route to the win.
Victor Wembanyama scored 10 points for France.
Jamal Murray did not play, resting Friday’s game. Murray, as Canada’s second best player, will be a major factor in how far Canada goes in the Olympic Games, which begin on July 26. Canada’s group consists of Spain, Australia, and Greece.
