The Canadian men’s national team defended Puerto Rico 103-93 on Sunday in the team’s last exhibition game before the Paris Olympics.
After both teams fought to a 23-23 opening quarter, the Canadians took a six-point lead, 46-40, into halftime.
Dillon Brooks led the squad with 21 points, five rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block, while Trey Lyles and Nickeil Alexander-Walker scored 15 apiece and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and R.J. Barrett scored 14 each.
Canada’s final exhibition comes one day after the United States narrowly escaped South Sudan, 101-100, in an exhibition on Saturday. South Sudan’s energy seemed to catch the USA off guard. The Americans play Germany on Monday afternoon.
