Nets Down Warriors; Ivey’s Game Winner Lifts Pistons; Anunoby’s Career Night Paces Knicks; Payton Career Assist Night for Pelicans

In a nine-game slate on Monday, the Brooklyn Nets got a big win in San Francisco, Jaden Ivey clinched a Piston victory, and 40 points from O.G. Anunoby propelled the New York Knicks to a win against the Denver Nuggets.

Dennis Schroder (31 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds) was clutch for the Nets in the fourth quarter, allowing the team to overcome an 18-point deficit over the course of the game and get a 128-120 road win. Schroder, who was 10-for-18 including 4-for-8 from downtown, received assistance in the form of Cam Thomas, who scored 23 points in 23 minutes. Zaire Williams added 19 points and 10 rebounds (6-for-11) while Jalen Wilson scored 18 points and had 7 rebounds. Shake Milton scored 13 off the bench. All contributions were major as Cam Johnson left the game after just 14 minutes with a sprained right ankle.

Stephen Curry’s 28 points and 7 assists led the Warriors (8-for-17 from the field, 8-for-16 from downtown), while Andrew Wiggins put up 18 on 7-for-13 shooting. Moses Moody (6-for-8) added 15 off the bench in 16 minutes while Lindy Waters III added 14 out of the starting group.

The Nets, who scored 41 points in the final quarter and made 20 triples in the game, improved to 8-10 with the win while the Warriors are now 12-5.

Jaden Ivey scored on a layup from eight feet out to give the Detroit Pistons (8-11) a 102-100 win over the Toronto Raptors. Ivey (10-for-13) scored 8 of his 25 in the final frame and also had 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Jalen Duren put up 13 points and 12 rebounds for a Piston team that was playing without Cade Cunningham for the second consecutive game.

The 4-14 Raptors were led by Scottie Barnes’ 31 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 assists (12-for-26 from the field). R.J. Barrett scored 17 points but was just 7-for-19 shooting.

O.G. Anunoby dropped a career-high 40 points (5 assists, 4 rebounds, 16-for-23, 5-for-7 from deep) as the Knicks (10-7) comfortably defeated the Denver Nuggets (9-7) 145-118. Karl-Anthony Towns added 30 points and 15 rebounds (12-for-15) while Jalen Brunson added 23 points and 17 assists. Brunson’s assist total is tied for the fifth most in Knick franchise history. Michael Ray Richardson (18 twice and 19 once), Mark Jackson (18 twice and 19 once), Richie Guerin (19 and 21), Stephon Marbury (19) and Chris Duhon (22) are the only Knicks with more in franchise history.

Nugget superstar Nikola Jokic had an off night by his standards with 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists on 9-for-20 shooting. Russell Westbrook scored 27 off the bench in 26 minutes on 9-for-16, while Michael Porter Jr. added 18 points and 10 rebounds on 7-for-17.
