Per Shams Chanaria, the NBA has released its Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 18th) schedule, which includes an entertaining triple-header that will start at 5pm on the day.
The first game will feature the Phoenix Suns visiting the Memphis Grizzlies, providing us with an exciting matchup of the new guard versus the old guard with Chris Paul going up against Ja Morant. The Suns, who went undefeated in the bubble and just missed out on the playoffs, have nine national television games in the first half of the schedule.
Milwaukee and Brooklyn is a tantalizing showdown between Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo, two of the undisputed top five players in the game. In my opinion, the Bucks and Nets are the two best teams in the east barring health. That game tips off at 7:30pm.
The finale is a showdown between the Lakers and Warriors, as LeBron James and Steph Curry will meet again in a big spot. Granted, the Lakers no doubt have the upper hand now coming off a title win, but, in my view, it will be awesome to see Curry in a situation unlike any he has had in his career. I really feel like he is going to put the team on his back this season.
The Atlanta Hawks, who represent MLK's hometown, will play the Minnesota Timberwolves at 2:30pm.
