Trae Young, it was announced on Monday morning, will be replacing the injured Milwaukee Bucks' superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo in the 74th NBA All-Star Game next weekend in San Francisco. Antetokounmpo, averaging 31.8 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 5.9 assists this season, has not played since February 2 when he put up 30 points, 11 rebounds, and 7 assists on 14-for-21 shooting against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Young, who will be making his 4th all-star appearance, is averaging 23.5 points and a league-leading 11.4 assists. The Hawks, 25-28, have won two consecutive games and are 9th in the Eastern Conference. The Bucks, meanwhile, are 5th in the conference at 28-23.

Anthony Davis, meanwhile, will be replaced in the game as he suffered an adductor strain and will miss multiple weeks. The injury for Davis and the Mavericks is a devastating one, as he dominated his Mavericks' debut with 26 points, 16 rebounds, and 7 assists. The Mavericks are 28-25, 1.5 games back of the Los Angeles Clippers for 7th in the Western Conference. The onus will be more on Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson now to deliver in Davis' absence. The forward's injury is an unfortunate one for a franchise that made the Luka Doncic deal in hopes that Davis could improve their defense (which he still can) and make the type of the difference that he did on Saturday against the Houston Rockets.

Speaking of Doncic, the superstar guard is expected to make his Los Angeles Laker debut tonight at home against the hapless Utah Jazz. The Lakers are rolling, winners of five consecutive (9-1 in their last 10) with a 31-19 record, 5th in the Western Conference.
